Taking a look around the new additions to the site. I love it! It’s easy to navigate, and the extra production notes are an added bonus. Kuddos to Alison and Kellybeth7 for a job well done.
Just some lol moments and a gasp or two:
“Trivia: We’d originally written the guest starring role for Tom Waits.”
I love Tom Waits! My husband is a huge fan of Jim Jarmusch and adores Coffee and Cigarettes in which Tom and Iggy Pop make an appearance. While it would have been great to have Tom in the role, it appears that the X Files often has serendipitous moments wherein what may have been unplanned becomes ‘I couldn’t see it any other way.’
This made me laugh:
“I’ve commented elsewhere about my obsession with cannibalism. It seems I also have a thing for vomiting. . . .”
Cannibalism fascinates me, but it is responsible for my inability to ea anything but vegetables I suspect – “Our Town” on further cemented that, but vomiting? Too much time as a mom I suspect.
I LOVED “The Lone Gunmen.” I was heartbroken when it was canceled.
“While I loved it – and thought Bryan Spicer did a masterful job – in retrospect, it was probably too sudden an about-face for an audience unaccustomed to seeing these characters in set-ups as blatantly comic as these.”
I guess it may have been for new viewers? I can only speak for myself, but I never saw anything that wasn’t within the realm of possibility for the characters. I loved Jimmy and Yves; they were a great addition to the mix.
“Two other notes: David Duchovny generously appeared in an unbilled cameo. And, if you look closely, you can see the images of Vince, John and me flash by (the first and last time we put our faces in a 1013 show.)”
And now I have to go pull out my DVD and slow-motion through to see this.
Now I’m off to explore the rest of the site.
